Composition :

Meloxicam	BP	5mg
Benzyl Alcohol	IP	2% w/v
Water	IP	q.s

Mode of Action :

Meloxicam is a potent long-acting Non-steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drug (NSAID) belonging to the Oxicam group of Drugs. It acts by inhibiting Prostaglandins synthesis, thereby exerting powerful Anti-inflammatory, Analgesic and Antipyretic effect. Meloxicam also has endo-toxic effect as it inhibits Thromboxane B2 which is responsible for vasoconstriction and platelet aggregation. Therefore, it ensures normal blood viscosity and smooth flow. Since Prostaglandins are the primary mediators of pain and inflammation, Meloxicam reduces the Prostaglandins level at the peripheral levels and provides as an excellent anti-inflammatory and analgesic effect- relief from pain, inflammation, and pyrexia.

  • Acute & Chronic Musculoskeletal disorder- Inflammatory & Painful conditions
  • As an adjuvant in acute Respiratory Tract Infection, Endotoxemia Diarrhea, and Mastitis along with specific Antibiotics

Pre-cautions :

• Do not administer concurrently with Gluco-corticosteroids or any other NSAIDS.
• In case of Horses, do not use in Mares during Pregnancy and lactation. For Cattle and Pigs, it can be safely given during pregnancy.

Recommended Dosage :

• For Cattle: 0.5 mg/kg IM (Intra muscular) or IV (Intravenous)
• For Horse: 0.6 mg/kg PO or IV (Intravenous)
• For Pig: 0.4 mg/kg IM (Intra muscular)
• For Dog & Cat: 0.2mg/kg
